Internships at PPAF
Article Writing Workshop
Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Department of King Edward Medical College, Lahore in
collaboration with Jahandad Society for Community Development
(JSCD) is organizing an International Workshops on "ARTICLE
WRITING" on Dec 21, 2004 at Holiday Inn, Lahore.
Prof. Jim
Thornton,
Editor in Chief of British Medical Journal of Obstetrics &
Gynaecology & Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology,
University of Nottingham, UK will be conducting the workshop
as the Resource Person.
The workshop will enable
participants to update their knowledge and skills on how to
write medical articles especially in the renowned
international journals like British Medical Journal.
The registration fee for
Consultants to attend the workshop is Rs. 2000, however, the
registration for PG students is Rs. 1000. Please find enclosed
the Registration form of the workshop. Due to the limited
number of seats, participants shall be registered on first
come first serve basis.

Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund
Human & Institutional Development Unit
Internship Program V
The Human and Institutional Development Unit of
PPAF is mandated to build capacities of the Fund and its
partner organizations to contribute towards their common
mission of alleviating poverty and empowering the poor.
PPAF being the apex poverty alleviation
institution undertakes multiple interventions contributing
towards poverty alleviation. PPAF’s Internship program is
another effort of the Fund to support the social sector by
providing well-developed entry level professionals trained
jointly by PPAF and its POs at its HID facility and carrying
an appropriate blend of professionalism and volunteerism.
Objectives of Internship Program
The objectives of this
rigorous internship program for selected young graduates are:

To prepare a cadre of young
professionals to undertake challenges of poverty alleviation
in the country
·
To develop human being, and not
resources to provide development services with an appropriate
mix of professionalism and volunteerism
Methodology
Internship program has two
phases:
Phase 1:
one month in house training,
Phase 2:
three months field attachment with PPAF partner organizations
(outside the home province of the candidate).
A stipend of Rs.6, 000/-
per month shall be paid to the selected interns
Criteria
A master’s degree from a
recognized university preferably in social sciences.
Preference will be given to the rural youth.
